Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication [Official Music Video]

It is now a whopping 23 years ago that Red Hot Chili Peppers brought their success album "Californication" on the market. The Langer Player published in 1999 came to global hit within a very short time and is still considered a milestone in the work of the band. In 2000, the US wireless rockers coupled the title song "Californication" as a fourth single and published matching a crazy video.

The mixed cutouts of a band performace with sequences of a computer game in which the musicians whiz, among other things, with a snowboard over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, swim through an ocean full of sharks or fighting in a forest against bears and chainsaw killers. The animations shine from today's perspective in the old-baked look of a PlayStation 2 game, but at the time, however, caused a stir at the time. If you have always wished to gamble the game from the clip, this dream is now fulfilled to zero!

From the fun project to the full-fledged game

The Hobby Developer Miquel Camps Orteza had the idea of making a real game from the video template. Originally it had been a fun project created on two days, but then he made a full game with seven levels, explains Orteza on the website to the project. There is the game now for PC and Mac available for free download. An Android version is in progress. The gamer assumes in the title, probably for legal reasons, not the role of a red-hot chili pepper member to be recognized as such, but any rocker with free upper body.

The game picks up the key scenes from the "Californication" video and splits them into individual sections. So, for example, you swing on a snowboard, hunt through a dark forest, diving in the sea, race through a big city or flying over the roofs of the same. In doing so, collecting logos of the band in the game world. The look is unmistakably based on the template, but you have to do without music while gambling. Macher Orteza wants to present his skills as a developer with the game. He is own information in search of a job. Anyone who is done by his idea but has no vacancy in parate, can give him a tip.
