The Covenant is a theocratic army alliance of alien races who function as one of the major antagonists in the Halo sci-fi collection. The Commitment are made up of a selection of diverse types, unified under the religious prayer of the enigmatic Leaders and also their belief that Forerunner ring worlds called Halos will certainly supply a course to salvation. After the Agreement leadership-- the High Prophets-- proclaim humanity an affront to their gods, the Commitment prosecute a prolonged genocidal campaign against the technically inferior race. The Agreement were first presented in the 2001 video game Halo: Fight Evolved as adversaries hunting the player personality, a human super soldier called Master Principal.
