The Captive test PC and our approach
We spent the Captive test PC a lot of laps in Battlefield 2042 to create benchmarks and to determine from tips for a graphics-tuning. The procedure we describe the same, but first the details on our test PC, the model Captive high-end gaming R64-718 come up with a price of 2,099 euros:
Processor: Ry zen 7 5800x (8 cores 16 threads, 3.8 to 4.7 GHz)
RAM: 16 GB DDR4-2400 Motherboard: MSI B550-A Pro Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 3060 RTX Ti (8 GB) SSD (tied PCIe) 1 TB M.2 Housing: Aztec Performance P120 Crystal with multiple RGB fans Power supply: Power Captive G650W (650 watts) CPU cooler: LC-Power Cosmos Cool LC-CC-120 with RGB fan Housing: 48,5 cm (H), 47,6 cm (T), 23,4 cm (B)
On the Captive site you will find even more detailed information as well as other gaming PCs with various other configurations. How did we get but now proceed in our tests? Have tested which version of Battlefield 2042 with the update of November 18, one day before the official release. When drivers we used the GeForce Game Ready driver 496.76 that have appeared also about to release of Battlefield 2,042nd The system uses Windows 10 (64-bit) with all current updates.
The performance of the four existing preset video modes have determined we with our test system in the mode breakthrough in solo mode against bots and us moving in a per pass always identical area of the map that is not directly in the combat zone. This therefore makes sense since we undisturbed test the graphics performance and wanted to find out the differences of the respective settings. A reasonably uniform and thus incurred with the previous run another cycle would not be given in combat, and certainly not against human opponents. In this way, we have also tried to find out whether the individually adjustable graphic Untermenüpunkte particular a particularly high impact on the FPS (frames per second) have. If this is the case, then these points offer, of course, to make relatively large jumps in the FPS values without equal even having to mitverstellen all other graphics menu items. We will see later what, if any of the points should be mentioned here. Some screenshots with a slider comparison possible, we will place in the article. On the next page, but we start first with details graphics menu.
