Paralympics host Japan will expand the emergency to seven further prefectures because of the continued rising corona numbers. This was announced by the government on Tuesday after last more than 20,000 new infections in the country had been counted in one day. The region around Tokyo was already before and during the Olympic Games in the emergency, which remains until the 12th of September.
The infection numbers throughout Japan reach a level we have not experienced yet, said Yasutoshi Nishimura, who is responsible for the defense against the Coronavirus Minister: The number of patients in the first state rises daily.
As already at Olympics, the Paralympics (24th August to 5th September) no fans are admitted to the sports facilities. An exception is there for some students who are allowed to play as part of an integrative education program.
Among other things, the emergency provides that no alcohol may be sold in the affected regions in restaurants and bars. In addition, the restaurants must close at 20.00, moreover, the number of visitors of shopping centers and shops should now be limited.
